The following day, Osman and Nikola set out for Iznik. Meanwhile, Certukay infiltrated the military camp by disguising himself as a shaman, killing one in the process. Julia attempted an attack on Malhun in Sogut, but her attempt proved unsuccessful. Malhun ventured outside the city and successfully apprehended Julia, later having her arrested. A shepherd named Akca introduced himself and offered to create a map of the city.

As Geyhatu examined boxes filled with gunpowder, Konur arrived and informed him about Osman’s whereabouts. Geyhatu prepared to leave the camp to capture Osman when Turgut initiated an attack. Nikola claimed that Osman was a secret spy working for the Byzantium empire, maneuvering to bring him into the emperor’s chamber. Osman discussed the imminent Mongol threat with the emperor, seeking permission to control the border region.

After careful consideration, the emperor accepted Osman’s request. Boran persuaded Julia to drink the poison she had used to kill Gonca, leading to her demise. Later that night, Osman confided in the sheikh, revealing his plan to assassinate Gunduz. As Gunduz attempted to communicate with Geyhatu, Osman intercepted him. Gunduz confessed that he had lost his way despite his intentions to protect the tribe. Osman ended his life by shooting him with a bow.
