House of the Dragon season 2

House of the Dragon will undoubtedly return for a second season, therefore both the old and new gods have heard our pleas.

Long ago, the confirmation arrived. In actuality, the news surfaced five days following the premiere of the first episode. HBO’s interest was understandable given the almost insatiable fan demand for the Game of Thrones spin-off.

During its Sunday broadcast and the next Friday, House of the Dragon attracted 20 million viewers, the most for any new HBO original series in the network’s history. There is also the fact that it was included in our collection of the top television shows of 2022. Filming started on March 6 with locations in the UK and Spain, according to a posting from the Film & Television Business Alliance’s Production List. It appears that season two won’t premiere with additional episodes unless spring or summer of 2024 because season two’s production will likely take about a year.

House of the Dragon season 2 cast: Who will be coming back?

Prince Lucerys (Elliot Grihault) and the dragon he owned Arrax were both severely wounded by Vhagar, so Rhaenyra’s boy won’t be back for season two. However, we’re positive that his passing will have far-reaching repercussions. Paddy Considine will not be joining the season two cast either. Unfortunately, King Viserys has left his crown on the Iron Throne and has ordered his quarreling offspring to kill each other to get it. The named successor Rhaenyra Targaryen will be played by Emma D’Arcy once more as she struggles to establish her rightful place on the Iron Throne. She will undoubtedly encounter further obstacles from Queen Alicent, which will bring Olivia Cooke back.

Since it’s Greens vs. Blacks, prominent personalities will return to support their preferred king. Prince Daemon (played by Matt Smith) and Princess Rhaenys (played by Eve Best) will return to bolster Rhaenyra’s defenses. In support of Aegon and Alicent, Rhys Ifans and Fabien Frankel will reprise their roles of Otto Hightower and Ser Criston Cole, respectively.

lacking the Targaryen and Velaryon children, what good is a civil war? Here are the individuals who are likely to return from this fighting cousin, nephew, and uncle mix:

 Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon Targaryen

• Ewan Mitchell as Aemond Targaryen

• Phia Saban as Helaena Targaryen

• Harry Collett as Jacaerys Velaryon

• Phoebe Campbell as Rhaena Targaryen

• Bethany Antonia as Baela Targaryen

Aegon “the younger” Targaryen, Viserys Targaryen, and Joffrey Velaryon, Rhaenyra’s younger offspring, might mature into new members of the crew in the future. Daeron Targaryen, the other child of Alicent and Viserys, has no chance. In the TV adaption, he appears to have been dropped from the family tree. Who knows what went wrong?

The future of Corlys Velaryon is less certain. We expect to watch Steve Toussaint reprise his role as The Driftwood Lord because he appeared to recuperate and we believe that the Sea Snake still has some life in it.

In the best-case scenario, a teaser could appear by the close of 2023, but it still seems overly optimistic. We’ll keep an eye out for updates and let you know as soon as a muttering spider in the Red Keep. To keep you occupied till then, we’ve included the season one trailer.
